கூடவே, அந்தப் புத்தகம் பத்திய உங்க பாயிண்ட் ஆஃப் வியூவும் ஒரு பேரால சொல்லணும். கண்டிப்பா பல புத்தகங்கள் பத்தி நாம எல்லாரும் இதனால தெரிஞ்சிக்க முடியும். நமக்குப் பிடிக்காத புத்தகமா இருந்தாலும்கூட, அதைப்பத்தி இன்னொருத்தர் இப்படி ஷேர் செய்வதன்மூலம் படிச்சிப் பார்க்கலாமேன்னு தோணலாம்.

On paper, Ethiopia is poor, with 24 percent of its people living below the poverty line. That’s probably what you’ve read in your newspaper, and it’s certainly what you’ve seen on the nightly news. But did you also know that in 2018, the poverty rate was nearly half of what it had been just twenty years earlier? Or that thanks to the government’s investment in public infrastructure and industrial parks, the Ethiopian economy was increasing by 10 percent every year, making it one of the fastest-growing economies on the planet?
This great acceleration forward isn’t limited to just money matters. It’s about the country’s leadership, too. In February 2018, nearly two years after my visit to Ethiopia with Nas Daily, the nation’s prime minister stepped down from power—the first leader in the country’s modern history to do so—making way for a successor who promised reform. That reinvention happened. Old-style authoritarianism was abolished, democracy began thriving, government corruption plummeted, political prisoners were released, exiled dissidents were invited home, and the twenty-year conflict with neighboring Eritrea at long last ended.
And, oh yes, the prime minister installed a cabinet that was 50 percent female, while the nation’s parliament elected a woman president for the first time in the country’s history.

Facebookல் எப்பொழுதும் போல் சுற்றிக் கொண்டிருந்த பொழுது Nas Daily என்பவருடைய வீடியோ ஒன்று தட்டுப்பட்டது. ஒரு நிமிட வீடியோ. ஒரே நிமிடத்தில் சொல்லவந்ததை சொல்லிவிட்டுப் போய்க் கொண்டே இருந்தார். அடுத்த நாள் இன்னொரு வீடியோ. அதுவும் ஒரே நிமிடம். மேலும் ஒவ்வொரு வீடியோவும் உலகின் பல்வேறு பகுதியிலிருந்து எடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. இப்படி உலகை ஆயிரம் நாட்கள் சுற்றி ஆயிரம் வீடியோ எடுத்து போட்டிருக்கிறார் Nas. அத்தனையும் பாசிட்டிவ். இவை அனைத்தும் Facebookல் இலவசமாக காணக் கிடைக்கின்றது. அவைகளை பார்க்கும் பொழுது மனதில் வாழ்வின் மீது ஒரு நம்பிக்கை ஏற்பட்டது.
ஆயிரம் நாட்கள் முடிந்தபின்பு Nas அதை புத்தகமாக கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறார். வீடியோவில் எடுத்தது எப்படி புத்தகமாக எழுத முடியும்? இதற்கு பதிலும் முன்னுரையிலேயே Nas தந்துவிடுகிறார். ஒவ்வொரு பகுதியும் புதிய சம்பவம், புதிய மக்கள், புதிய நாம் அறியாத செய்தி என்று விரிந்து கொண்டே செல்கிறது (முதல் பகுதியே இந்தியா பற்றித்தான்). Videos தாண்டி, புத்தகத்தில் Nas Stories மற்றும் Nas Moments போன்ற சிறப்பு பகுதிகளும் உண்டு. அத்தனையும் மிக எளிதான ஆங்கிலத்தில், பாட்டியோ அல்லது ஒரு நல்ல தோழனோ நம்மிடம் கதை சொல்வது போல. படிக்கப் படிக்க ஆச்சரியத்தாலும் அன்பாலும் நிறைந்துகொண்டே வருகிறேன்.
