//The GST Council on November 27 wrote a letter to states expressing concern over strained tax collections and indicated that it may not be able to compensate them for loss of revenue. The Centre usually pays GST compensation to the states every two months, but it has been three months since some states got the last instalment of compensation.//
//To meet the shortfall, the GST Council will review all items that are currently exempted under GST and bring some of them under taxation. After the GST Council meeting on December 18, some exempted items could again come back under the tax net.//
