This photo definitely instilled an emotion in me...
I generally don't share such as these with my colleagues... However, at coffee break one my colleagues took a peek at this photo... She walked away a couple of steps and came back with tears rolling in her eyes... She was least bothered she was in cafeteria... She looked at the poem and asked me to read... I read the entire poem in Tamil, which she understood none, but kept listening with tears... Once I finished, she asked me to write it in English and mail her...
Moving out of cafeteria, she said, "We all need monkeys... Atleast monkeys..."

What should I tell you?
About my mom’s suicide when I was six..?
About the struggle with my siblings and drunkard dad..?
About my marriage at the age of thirteen..?
About my entry in in-laws with all the dowries..?
About the fight filled life with mother-in-law and sister-in-laws..?
About the twelve kids born, each a year, from my age of fifteen..?
About the death of half of those kids..?
About his elope with that bitch after having twelve kids..?
About my singlehandedly bringing up all the kids..?
About his return to me after his every odyssey..?
About enduring him till his death..?
About his demise and my kids desolating me to an useless wanderer..?
Not a dog would have experienced my plight…
Not a demon would have been through my plight…
Not a soul would have lived my plight…
After all those whom I have loved leaving me on streets…
You have come to hear me…
What should I tell you..?

ஆறு வயசில எங்காத்தா அரளி வெத அரச்சி குடிச்சி செத்ததயா?
அதுக்கப்புறம் தம்பி தங்கச்சியோட குடிகார அப்பனோட மாரடிச்சதயா?
பதிமூணு வயசில கல்யாணம் ஆனதையா?
ஆட்டுக்குட்டி, அம்மிக்கல்லு, கொடக்கல்லு, ஜமுக்காளம், தலவாணியோட பூந்த வூடு வந்ததையா?
மாமியா நாத்தனா புருசனோட மல்லுக்கட்டி குடும்பம் நடத்தினதையா?
பதினஞ்சு வயசில ஆரம்பிச்சி வருசத்துக் கொன்னா பண்ணன்டு புள்ள பெத்ததையா?
அதில பாதி செத்ததையா?
பண்ணன்டு புள்ளைக்கப்புறம் அந்தப் படுபாவி மனுசன் ஒரு சிறுக்கி மவ கூட ஓடுனதையா?
ஒத்தயா ஒரு மனுசி அத்தன புள்ளயயும் ஒழச்சி ஆளாக்குனதையா?
ஆட்ட பாட்டமெல்லாம் முடிஞ்சி அந்த மனுசன் சீ பட்டு ஏங்காலடிக்கு திரும்பி வந்ததையா?
கருவேல விறகு பொறுக்கி கஞ்சி ஊத்தி அந்த மனுசன காப்பாத்தி கட்டயில அனுப்புனதையா?
கட்டுனவன் காலியாகி பெத்ததெல்லாம் பேயாகி நடுத்தெருவுக்கு நா வந்து பரதேசி ஆனதையா?

கொஞ்சி வளத்த புள்ளயெல்லாம் என்ன நடுத்தெருவில விட்டப்புறம்
கொரங்கு நீ வந்து ஏங்கொறைய கேக்குறியே!
